A.J. Cochrane & Sons is one of the oldest painting firms in Western Australia. Our story began in 1933 when founder Arthur Cochrane opened the business with his wife, Bedelia. Established with a vision to offer Perth customers high-quality painting delivered with professional and reliable service, the Cochrane family has passed down a wealth of industry knowledge and a passion for the painting trade for the past four generations. More than 90 years on, Arthur’s legacy continues in our skilled painters who proudly serve the Perth community today.

Stephen is a third-generation Master Painter with decades of experience painting Perth homes and businesses. Committed to upholding the family legacy of providing expert painting services and above-and-beyond customer service, Steve is highly regarded within the WA painting industry and by our many valued clients. As managing director, he proudly leads our dedicated team of skilled painting professionals, passing on his vast expertise to the next generation, and ensuring every job is completed to an exceptional standard.

Dulux Accredited Painters, Supporting the Local Community
Over the course of our many years in business, we have cultivated a strong association with MPA Skills, a Group Training Organisation and Registered Training Organisation that provides training to 1200 students. As part of our continued support of youth training and development, we have donated $11,000 worth of paint to the Master Painters Association (MPA) Skills organisation based in Maylands. Known for offering extensive work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for budding painting professionals, we also regularly donate payments from our smaller jobs to the Cancer Council after Stephen and his business partner and brother, Ray, lost their father to bowel cancer over a decade ago.
