It was one of those ‘so bright it hurts your eyes’ Perth summer days.
As the heat prickled our skin, the clear, cool waters of my aunt and uncle’s pool beckoned.
But first I had to take a picture of their beautiful bougainvillea, showing off against the sparkling blue sky.
The combination of colours in this photo just stops me in my tracks every time.
The shocking pink of the flowers, the deep blue of the sky (like it could go forever) and the turquoise shades of the pool. They’re all very strong shades – yet they work beautifully together. If you like you can introduce the deep purple of the fence to really show them off, or bring them down a few notches by laying them gently over the soft grey shade.
